Poultry and Pig Farms

When using the wood pellet burning system for heating in pig and poultry farms, both pig and poultry farmers benefit from several advantages

The main advantages can be listed as follows:
- Exact dosed of the quantity of product in the burner, which allows heating to be programmed for consecutive hours without the need to refill the product during the night.
- Wood pellets offer a clean and safe alternative, minimizing waste, dirt, and the attraction of harmful animals, ultimately protecting the health of the breeding stock.
- Currently, 60% of farms still use wood for heating. The useful calorific value of wood (normally used) does not exceed 1,800 kcal. Hotels, Motels, and Gyms

In the sector in question, heat production is mainly used for heating swimming pools, showers, and taps. The objective is to keep the water heated at the desired temperature without variations.

Several companies exploit biomass, such as firewood or wood chips, which, however, present critical issues: they require voluminous storage and continuous feeding of the combustion system. Electricity and gas are other popular sources, but they have become increasingly expensive.

For example, firewood requires refuelling every 4-6 hours, while pellets can guarantee an autonomy of up to 48 hours, with the possibility of automated temperature control.

Pasta and Bakery Factories

Bread making is constantly improving, and wood pellets represent a novelty in this sector, capable of satisfying the essential needs of baking. In this context, a specific cooking system (oven) is used to cook bread, pasta, cakes, and biscuits.

With this automation, it is possible to maintain the desired cooking temperature constantly, without heat dispersion, and to guarantee uniform cooking of the products.
Additionally, by using pellets to replace other heat sources, there is no need to preheat the oven for a long time, which saves on product.

Breweries

In the brewing industry, wood pellets are used in a specific system to produce heat (boilers) during the boiling phase of the wort (the sugary liquid subjected to fermentation).

This process normally requires saturated steam at medium pressure. The energy source to generate this steam is currently fossil fuel (gas or oil) or electrical energy, but all come with significant economic drawbacks. Wood pellets have been winning over this sector of breweries with ease in terms of all the requirements mentioned above.

Smoking meat is the process of curing meat at low temperatures with smoke. This adds flavour to the meat and helps keep it tender and flavourful.
